Technical Web Analyst

Job Description:

• Planning and completing technical Google Analytics and other web analytics tools configurations/audits
• Troubleshooting tracking and data inconsistencies arising from implementation issues
• Involvement in driving innovation in terms of our technical approach to Web Analytics – keeping the team informed of industry advances, new processes, resolutions to common implementation/tracking issues
• Analysis of client requirements for bespoke tracking enhancements and planning, implementing and documenting suitable solutions
• Validation of clients’ support issues and initial problem solving
• Efficient management of incoming support items and requests (from clients and internal teams)
• High level prioritisation of multiple tasks – accommodating critical support items and requests for specific deadlines
• Working with internal, client, or third party development teams when necessary for on-site programming requirements
• Testing tracking configurations (new and existing) and developing debugging/validation processes
• Reporting to management of all enhancements and ideas for further improvements, new industry tools, etc.
• Monthly management and analysis of clients’ performance via Google Analytics (and other web analytics packages) including troubleshooting, enhancements and performance reporting

Requirements:

• Excellent working knowledge of JavaScript, browser technology, cookie behaviour and server-side programming (ASP.NET (Visual Basic or C#), ASP, PHP (desirable but not essential) and SQL)
• Experience of working with analytical software (e.g. Google Analytics) would be an advantage, data processing and advanced Excel
• Understanding of (or passion to learn about) the technical aspects of web analytics, SEO & conversion optimisation
• Enthusiastic and driven, with meticulous attention to detail and overall passion for excellence
• Innovative and creative, with a logical and methodical approach to problem solving
• Experience of gathering and understanding technical client requirements
• Ability to relay technical knowledge to internal and externa stakeholders with various levels of technical knowledge and at all levels of seniority
• Credible and articulate, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills both client facing and internally
• Ability and eagerness to pass on knowledge to other team members
• Ability to define and develop improved working practices
• Logical and methodical, with a calm and structured approach under pressure
