Part of Trans Corporation. owned by Chairul Tanjung, it began broadcasting on 15 December 2001. Trans TV is one of the prestigious rapidly growing televisions and aims to be one of the best TV stations in Indonesia. The station is similar to other commercial stations, showing news, movies, drama series, variety shows, quiz shows, and children's programs.
