Program Penanggulangan Kemiskinan di Perkotaan (P2KP) or Urban Poverty Program is a government program that are substantially working in poverty reduction through the concept of empowering local communities and other development actors, including local government and local care groups, so it can wake up "the independence movements of poverty reduction and sustainable development", which based on noble values and universal principles.
The Urban Poverty Project represents one of the Social Safety Net Programs in urban area which aims to overcome the poverty as the impact of economic crisis. P2KP implementation focuses on the implementation of policies, socialization, obedience, and resources. It is used to achieve the objectives of the implementation of urban P2KP. The general wisdom that is tackling the problem of poverty caused by structural or economic crisis, the government deems it necessary to provide assistance to the urban poor through the Urban Poverty Project (P2KP).
