Chief Accountant
Major Deliverables of the position :
- Ensure a strong control environment and deliver accurate and timely accounting records for the company
- Ensure delivery of Group Reporting as per Regional and Head Office requirements
- Comply with US GAAP requirements for head office reporting and compliance with local PSAK Requirements
- Comply with reporting requirements of local regulatory authorities including BKPM, BAPEPAM etc
- Manage the control and accounting aspects of the retail stores
- Manage the control and accounting aspects of the factory
- Deliver monthly reporting to senior management and departmental heads which clearly shows variance against agreed plan numbers
- Manage a team of 6 direct reports and through them a total team of 30 people
- Ensure compliance with tax rules and regulations, including timely filing of tax returns and follow-up for refunds / assessments
- Work to simplify internal processes and maximize use of technology to reduce the work load and improve the quality of the financial data
- Act as a liaison between finance and other departments to deliver to them the required data and support
- Liaise with all stakeholders to deliver a robust annual budget
- Ensure delivery of external/internal audits without significant issues identified as open
- Controlling of company assets including fixed assets / cash & bank etc
- Manage the pension fund accounting and related matters
- Less than 35 years old
- Qualified accountant with a Big4 audit firm background
- Atleast 7 years experience of which minimum 3 years at a manager level
- Experience working for a multinational company
- Experience working for a public company listed on IDX
- Well versed with US GAAP as well as local accounting rules (PSAKs)
- Working in a multicultural environment
- Experience of tax compliance and dealing with tax authorities
- Experience of retail and/or manufacturing industry
- Good knowledge of IT systems and demonstrated experience of streamlining and automating processes
- Ability to lead a team of 30 direct/indirect people
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Good analytical skills and ability to present data to senior management in a meaningful way
- Team player and able to interact with other departments effectively
- Strong personality and ability to enforce company policies
